Games to do on horse back?

I recently quit equestrian drill team due to personal issues and a busy life. I am starting to do Barrels and Poles instead. I ride by myself and keep my horses at my house so no one usually comes over to ride with me.



I was wondering what some fun games were to do on horse back to keep both me and my horses' boredom at bay. Please, no Parelli games... I already know about them. I want something to keep their mind and body active, not everyday boring routines.

Ever heard of Weaver horse balls? those are good, once the horse is used to them on the ground you can ride with the horse pushing them around haha. that would be a fun thing to do along with a good desensetizing drill.

Swimming? I'd love to do that, if you have access to a pond you should try and swim with your horse :)

Jumping? even if you arent a jumper it would be a good balance exersize.
Well-when I broke my leg in four places and couldn't ride I played kick ball with my horse and a yoga ball. We now do that with me in the saddle! I also set up fun courses like helium filled balloons set a different heights that he has to walk through. I also do most of my riding alone so try and set up different courses. One day a dragged out all the coloured tarps I could find. set poles and different heights and ground poles for obstacle courses. The I add the three barrels for racing..but we didn't race! I had objects that we pick up and drop off at other barrels.Games to do on horse back?
I play polo on my horse on really boring days. But you can create a really fun challenging obstacle course. Jumps, poles etc. I like to race too, my friends and I race a lot.Games to do on horse back?
i'd set up an obsacle course, so fun! do jumping too. try cross country or even dressage!!
