i was wondering if you knew any fun horse games to play on horseback, me and my friend are gonna play some soon and i just wanted to see if there was any more out there, ages are 13 and 16 so it can be hard, haha thanks so muchHelp with horse games/fun shows,?
we used to have egg and spoon races, the last person to drop the egg wins
ride a buck - take 2 one dollar bills put them between your knees and the horse(we always did it bareback) whoever is the "last man standing"(the last person with at least 1 dollar) wins the money,
drunkards paradise- two people riding double, the person in the front holds a baby bottle full of juice or whatever for the person in the back to drink while going through all three gaits, the first team with an empty bottle wins. (the person in front is responsible for holding the bottle and controlling the horse)
and finally the relay race, they are always fun just use your imagination with the obstacles .
Set up an obstacle course. Then, each of you carry a glass of water while you go through it. Person with the most water in their cup at the end wins.
Jousting with pool noodles! Or you can find foam swords - we found some at the $1 store.
Red light, green light With rollbacks, backing up and turns (as well as starting and stopping).
Musical tires. Since there are only 2 of you, start at one side of the arena and race to the tire at the other side. First person off their horse, with their foot in the tire wins.Help with horse games/fun shows,?
Red Light/Green Light
All horses and riders line up at one end of the field, the caller stands at the opposite end with his/her back turned to the riders.
The caller shouts "Green Light" and all the horses advance. The caller then shouts "Red Light" and turns around. All the riders must get their horses stopped and stand perfectly still. If your horse moves, you're out!
First person to get across the field to the caller wins!Help with horse games/fun shows,?
we have a game at PC that's bounce pony but instead of going back over the jumps you turn to the outside of the pole, jump off at a marker and lead your horse home, stepping over "stepping stones" (drum lids or something spaced out) leading your horse home. The fun part is that you put two poles at the end instead of one, and put the lids on both sides so you can both run at once and race.

that's what it'll look like... the starting line(the first big line), then you both go over the 6 jumps (the lines) then you turn to the outside around the poles (the "o"s)... then jump off your horse, and lead him home, but you have to step on the lids (the "*"s). it's fun as.
then you have the classic egg and spoon on horseback... always a fun one.
freeze is a good one, it's hard with horses lol but a good exercise. It's the same as statues, you ride in a circle at a certain gait, and then the caller yells freeze and you have to be frozen by the time they look or you're out.
we used to play musical flags... you have a circle marked, but the peg is in the middle.. and you have to grab it first!
Another one I forgot before.. the rope race... each rider holds one end of the rope and you have to negotiate an obstacle course while both holding the rope - the last one holding the rope wins. A good laugh!
and that's all i can think of.. it's been a long time since i was allowed to play games at pony club lol!
simple TAG!! or ribbon race, speed barrels, keyhole, pole bending, barrel racing, or just set up alot of 1-2foot jumps and race across. VERY FUN!
